About Us

aMuslima.com is a decade in the making.  The concept started out with an entirely different team and even site name however intentions were skewed and the project although lifted off, died very quickly after it’s initial launch.

Now back in the saddle after a decade, two of the original members of that initial form of aMuslima came to fruition.  They reconnected via Facebook just by complete chance.  This connection sparked and by the will of Allah, and its initial implementation was made easy.

What is the concept of aMuslima? What was their Niah? (intention)

Their intention is to create a digital spot on the crazy wild web where Muslim women can share and express their daily learnings, thoughts, tips and tricks according to Islamic Adab.

It’s a digital spot on the Web where Muslim women can participate in a community driven by love for the religion and 100% respect to each other regardless of race or background.   This “space” is in the form of a web-blog in which they can freely express themselves in their “struggle” to live as halal as possible in a more & more non-halal world.

These sisters who get involved and author at aMuslima aren’t tied to any one time zone, physical office or set and dry guidelines – although we require all writing to have an Islamic learning – all topics are daily activities with Islamic teachings.

This site isn’t a typical dakwah site it’s more sharing the practicing of the Deen on a daily basis.   And is a support system for sisters to know what they are going through – they aren’t going at it alone.

aMuslima.com isn’t a non-profit organization.  They pride themselves of having autonomy of not leaning towards one particular group, charitable organizations nor any sect.  They are mainstream Islam that is based on the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammad SAW.

In order to retain and remain autonomous, they promote and support Muslim businesses and services through their e-commerce platform, advertising and sponsorships to which the proceeds go to maintaining the site and livelihood of the aMuslima team.  This organization is a social business.

Through ecommerce  they hope to bring and showcase products and services from sisters from around the world.  These products and services should benefit the Muslim community at large and in that empowering sisters (and brothers) to earn a living & in turn pay forward their good fortune to their own local communities. Aamiin.

The founders believe in social justice and encourage (with the help & permission of Allah swt) economic and social sustainability – especially for women.

So through these lofty goals, the founders of aMuslima find their calling and are calling out to all Muslimah’s out there (and brothers too!) to come and join this movement to re-empower women through collaboration, commerce and deen.
