Did you know that TIME is the ONLY commodity that you cannot BUY back?

Life Skills Series: Valuing your time.

**Poof**
Time has flown away…even as I write this story.
aMuslima Life Skills Managing your Time
Time is of essence.
We hear this all the time right? Do you know the value of time? Did you know if you watch TV just 30 minutes per day in one year that equates to = 30 min x 30 days =900 mins per month. This equates to 900 x 12 months = 10,800 mins.
If you equated time to a dollar amount, let’s say $5/hour (min. wage) then the 10,800 mins (or 180 hr) would equate to 180 hrs x $5 = $900!  What would you do with that money? What if that money is earned but cannot be used ever again?  Imagine that.
Imagine spending that “money (time)” and not get anything in return?  Imagine going to the store and just throwing $900 at the store and not taking anything out of the same value.  Wow! Can you do it?  You can’t right? I couldn’t!
Then why do we WASTE so much of our time?
Every moment we spend on this earth every second do we get closer to meeting our creator.  Imagine, going up to the school teacher or your boss and saying I did nothing for the past 5 hours of work? And on top of that – tell him that you were watching YouTube, reading FaceBook – do you think you would be fired?
I would have fired you.
Imagine facing Allah swt. And our time is not justifiable.  *)This include me sisters.

So. use your time wisely by:
  • Laying out your day using the time of prayer like ‘markers’ to indicate segments of your day.
  • Doing something useful for the greater good of mankind (this can be literally anything) that benefits muslims.
  • Know and understand what deeds are for this dunia and what is for the akhirat.
  • Note: if you want to meet Allah swt. then visit someone sick.  Insha Allah you will meet Allah swt.
  • Do better every moment of the day.

Insha Allah we will all go to Jannah Fidraus. Ameen.
