When you read the title, you might wonder, what kind of oxymoron is that? Champagne is an alcoholic drink, how can it be halal? Well, it’s only a name that the Saudi’s given to one of their refreshing drinks. It’s called champagne because the color and bubbly appearance of this beverage resembles that of a champagne. It’s actually a simple home made drink which contains no alcohol at all.

Saudi Champagne
(make: 1 liter jug/ +- 4 glasses)
Mix all the ingredients below in one 1-liter jug or 2 half-liter jugs
500 ml cold sparkling water or soda water or any colorless soda
500 ml cold sparkling apple juice (or plain apple juice if you use soda instead of water)
1 big red apple, wash and slice thinly or in small dice
1 big orange, wash and slice thinly
mint leaves for garnishing (optional)
ice cubes (optional)
