We are counting down the days to welcome the graceful month of Ramadan, the month of obligation fasting, the month of mercy the month which Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala commenced His final revelation – the Qur’an, so it is the month recitation of Qur’an, the month of collecting deeds, month of patience, and the reward for true patience is Jannah ( paradise). It is the month of sympathy with one’s fellowmen.

O muslimah, as a wife, a mother , we like to prepare the food for sahur (supper  before fajr) and break fast during Ramadan and sometimes it will take time in the kitchen,  especially if we don’t have a helper. So try to cook something simple during Ramadan as this is a month of worship (Ibadah) & Qur’an.

While cooking, make dzikr (remembrance of Allah) a habit to ourselves.  The dzikr of Allah is something that will not cost us any time. It is something that is extremely easy and extremely rewardable.

While we cleaning our house, washing our dishes, walking, or relaxing, always remembrance of Allah. We should remember Allah in our hearts and not just by our tongues. Contemplate over his magnificence and his creations and imagine Him in front of us as we glorify and remember Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah, hearts are assured.” [13:28]

Mu’aadh Ibn Jabal (radhi Allahu anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: The People of Paradise will not regret anything except one thing alone: the hour that passed them by in which they made no remembrance of Allah.” (Narrated Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-iman).

Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullah alaih) says that dzikr is as necessary for the heart as water for the fish. Imagine the condition of a fish out of water, so dzikr gives life to the heart. It is food for the heart and the soul; depriving them of dzikr is like depriving the body of its food.

Allah the All-Mighty said:

فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ”. البقرة 152

“Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show Me ingratitude” – Al-Baqarah 2:152

And Allah said:

“وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللهُ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا”. الأحزاب 35

“And the men and women who remember Allah frequently, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and great reward.” – Al-Ahzab 33:35

And Allah said:

“وَاذْكُرْ رَبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ”. الأعراف205

“And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and in aware, without loudness, by words in the morning and in the afternoon, and be not among those who are neglectful.” – Al-Araf 7:205

Dear Muslima, let’s set daily targets of doing as much dzikr as we can . What an amazing opportunity we have been given in this blessed month to gain such my qur'an at home 1closeness to Allah as well as his mercy and forgiveness of our past and present sins. There are immense rewards available for us in this blessed month if only we make the little effort required to gain them.

May Allah give us health and strength to welcome Ramadan and give more taste in our hands while cooking food for our family and reward us for our efforts we do to our family by keeping please of Allah.

Allahumma a’inni ‘ala dzikrika wa shukrika wa husni ‘ibadatika

O Allah! Assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You in the best of manners.
[Sahih Ahmad 5:245, Sahih abu Dawud 2:86, an-Nasa’i]

Allahumma aamiin.
