Complaining About Your Husband In Front Of Others Or In Social Media

All praises due to Allah, Subhanahu wata’ala. May the prayers and peace of Allah be upon His Prophet Muhammad, the one who said in an authenticated hadith: “When a man marries, he has fulfilled half of his religion, so let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half.” ( narrated by Anas  radhiallahu ‘anhu).

Marriage from an Islamic perspective is not only a form of formalization of the relationship of husband and wife or simply meeting the needs of human nature, but more than that, it is an act of worship which is prescribed. As part of worship, husband and wife should love, respect, and seek to understand and to help each other in the household life. This partnership stands on a foundation of common purpose, goals, attitudes, intuition and feelings, as well as collaboration and solidarity in solving any problems that arise in conjugal life which can be solved between husband and wife.

The relationship between husband & wife is unique. Each partner has lots of rights; but the rights do not come without responsibilities. In Islam, taking care of a husband has an important position. It has been equated to the role of Jihad (holy war in the path of Allah). Sayyidina Ali, radhiallahu ‘anhu, stated: “The Jihad of a woman is to take care of her husband well “.

Nowadays in social media complaints against the husband by some married women can be found. Sometimes, if a wife is not satisfied with her husband’s work or income or if any other problem arises between them, the wife may complain and this is not wise if you write such things in social media. Each family has its problems, and every problem has a solution. Spreading a husband’s disgrace is not one of them. Dissatisfaction of a wife against her husband can be solved by talking to the husband. Many problems can be solved by good communication and mutual understanding.

A wife can turn the home into a lofty paradise or a burning hell. She can lead her husband to the peak of success or to the dregs of misfortune. Talking about your husband behind his back is disloyal. When you get married, your first loyalty is to your husband, not to your family or your social group.IMG-20150325-WA002

Complaining about your husband to your friends and family will not only not solve any of your problems, but it will also make others view your relationship in a negative light. Expressing a husband’s bad attitude to others is equal to our own discredit. We put ourselves into the public spot light this way as well. Husband & Wife are screens for one another. So we should cover each other, not spread bad things about each other.

هُنَّ لِبَاسٌ لَكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لِبَاسٌ لَهُنَّ

“They are libas (i.e. body cover, screen, dress) for you and you are the same for them.” (Al-Baqarah: 187)

Allah orders women (wives) to be obedient to their husbands. The woman with the qualities bestowed on her by Allah, who is aware of her role as a spouse, can elevate her husband to a respected position. The wife who is obedient to her husband and keeps her husband pleased, will enter Paradise.

Umm Salamah, radhiallahu ‘anha, narrated that The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Any woman who dies while her husband is pleased with her, she enters Paradise.(Hadith Narrated by: At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 2).

Ibn Hibban narrated that the Prophet PBUH said:, “If a woman prayed the five prayers, fasted in Ramadhan, protected her honor and obeyed her husband; then she will be told (on the Day of Judgment): enter Paradise from any of its (eight) doors.

The Prophet PBUH said: “Your women who will enter Paradise are those nice to their husbands, who bear children, and those who keep checking the needs of their husbands. If her husband gets angry with her, she would hold his hand and say : “By Allah, I will not sleep until you forgive me” [as-Silsilah as-Sahiha].

Be a good wife to your husband, remember:

– The Prophet PBUH mentioned that among the three that Allah does not accept their prayer are, “A wife who goes to sleep while her husband is angry with her.” Narrated by; At-Tirmithi].

“If a woman harms (in any way) her husband, then his wife in Paradise tells her: ‘Do not harm him, may Allah fight you, he is only staying temporarily with you. Soon he will come to us.‘ [ Narrated by: Ahmad & At-Tirmithi].

– Avoid being unappreciative or unthankful to your husband, “Allah does not look to the woman who does not appreciate her husband while she cannot stand his departing her. [Narrated by; An-Nasaii].

May Allah lead us on his straight path and be a Muslimah sholehah.

O Allah! Put affection amongst our hearts, set right our matters between ourselves, guide us to the ways of peace, save us from darkness towards light, save us from all kinds of indecency; the apparent as well as the hidden evil ways, and bless our hearing, our seeing, our hearts, our spouses and our children, and turn in mercy upon us. Indeed You are the One who greatly Accepts repentance, and make us thankful for the favors that you have bestowed on us.

Allahumma Aamiin..
