Eid Prayer for Muslimah…Eid Mubarak

On Friday, October 26 coincide with the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, the day that Muslims  worldwide wait, Eid Al Adha. It is Sunnah for

Muslims to do fasting  on the day before Eid for Muslims who do not perform haj/ pilgrimage, and also slaughtering animals/ qurban.

On the day of Eid Al Adha all Muslim and Muslimah, men and women, young and old recite takbeer, tahlil, tahmid together and  pray Eid two raka’at.

There are differences of opinion regarding Eid prayers outside the home for women. Some scholars say makruh, but most scholars reject this opinion based on the following:

From Umm ‘Athiyah RA, she said: We are (women) commanded by Prophet Muhammad to go out for Fitrah and Adha celebration include young women, women who are menstruation, and those who live in seclusion. For those who are menstruating ought to stay away from the prayer-and according to some other story: away from the prayer – and listen to sermons and proselytizing to Muslims.

I (Umm ‘Athiyah) said: “O Messenger of Allah, one of us does not have a veil’ Apostle replied:” Her family should lend her clothes. “

And in another narration:

“And menstruation women should behind the worshipers, they join with her fellow women recite takbir.”

While according to Al-Bukhari:

“Umm ‘Athiyah said:” We were ordered to go out –a woman who is menstruating– to takbeer then they  takbeer with men. “

Allaah ‘alam bi showab

Eid Mubarak!
