Halal Food Recipe Series: Cassava with Coconut Milk

The Cassava Plant

When I ate in the one of Thai restaurants, they served a dessert cassava doused with sweet coconut milk sauce. Beside delicious, it seems easy to make. I tried to cook it at home and it only takes 20-30 minutes!  Here is how to make.

You need,

2-3 Sticks of Cassavas peeled

1/2 tsp salt

2 pc of Pandan leave (if any)

For the sauce, you will need

½-1 can of Coconut milk

1/2 tsp salt

2-3 tbsp sugar (or more if you like sweet)

1 tbsp rice flour (stir with 2 tbsp water)



Cut into pieces sticks of cassava in approximately 4 cm long, boil along with salt and pandan leaves. Wait until the cassava tender, you can test it using fork. Lift and put them on the serving dish.To prepare the sauce, boil all the sauce ingredients , stir until all ingredients evenly and thickens.

To serve pour the cassava with sauce on it. Enjoy!
