Here is what you need:

  1. 1 lb (2.2 kg) fresh large calamari / squid
  2. sour cream OR plain yogurt
  3. Dry mixture: flour + baking soda (1/2 tspn)+ salt + pepper + Onion powder

How to:

  • Soak the Calamari (cut into round circles) sour cream or yogurt for around 1 hour.
  • once soaked
  • lift and shake the access sour cream or yogurt
  • coat the clamari still wet with the dry mixture.
  • heat oil high.
  • fry a couple rings at a time.
  • should result in almost like restaurant style calamari.
