Have a blessing day of Friday

ya Rabb

Praise be to Allah, Lord of Nature, shalawat and greetings to the Prophet and the most noble Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, along with his family and his companions.

Akhuwaty muslimah, my Sisters in Islam, Friday is a very special day in the Muslim week. It is the day that Muslims (specially for men) gather together to pray in congregation.  It is more significant and more beneficial than any other day of the week. It is obligatory on every Muslim except women, children, seriously ill people and travelers. They can pray Jum’ah but it is not obligatory on them.

“O you who believe! When the call to prayer is proclaimed on Friday hasten earnestly to the remembrance of God, and leave aside business.  That is best for you if you but knew.” (Quran 62:9)

It is important that a Muslim not neglect Friday Prayer due to work, study, or other worldly matters. It is also recommended that Muslims clean and wash themselves and ensure they smell nice when they attend Friday Prayers.

Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “Every Muslim is obligated to wash on Friday and wear his best cloth. Also, he should use perfume if he has any.”(HR.Muslim and Bukhari).

Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said; “The five daily prayers, and from one Friday prayer till the next, serves as an expiration for whatever sins have been committed between them, provided one does not commit any major sin.”(HR.Muslim).

From Abu Hurayrah radhiAllah ‘anhu that the Rasulullah shallallaahu’ alaihi wa sallam said:

“The best day on which the sun rises is Friday.  It is the day Adam was created.  It is the day when Adam entered the Heavenly Gardens, the day when he was expelled from it and also the day he died.  Friday is the day on which the Day of Resurrection will take place.” (HR.Muslim).

Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, said “Verily, this is the Eid day (day of celebration) that Allah has prescribed for the Muslims”.

That’s why in Saudi Arabia, Thurday and Friday are week end, so the family can come together.

Friday consists of twelve hours, one of which is the hour where supplications are granted for believers.  The first opinion said that this hour is sought during the last hour after Asr (the third prayer in the day), narrated by Abu Dawod. The second is that it lasts from the time when the imaam sits on the mimbar to deliver the khutbah on Friday until he finishes the prayer. Du’aa’ at either of these times is deserving of being answered.

Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, mentioned, “There is no day more virtuous than Friday.  In it there is an hour in which no one will pray to Allah except that Allah will hear his prayer Friday.

Oh muslimah , though Juma’ah prayer at the mosque is not obligatory upon us women, this day as a special day, we should perform as much worship (ibadah)  as we can do it . If we know how special Friday and the virtues of this day, we can maximize our “worship to Allah (ibadah) during this day, such as:

Making a lot of du’aa’.

In this day there is a time when a person’s asking to Allah, Allah will answer his du’aa’

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, mentioned Friday and said: “On this day there is a time when no Muslim stands and prays, asking Allah for something, but Allah will grant him it” – and he gestured with his hands to indicate how short that time is.
(Narrated by al-Bukhari, Muslim)

-Reading Surat al-Kahf.

It  was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khduri that Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, said:

إن من قرأ سورة الكهف يوم الجمعة أضاء له من النور ما بين الجمعتين

“Whoever reads surat al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light between the two Fridays.” Narrated by al-Haakim; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 836

-Sending a lot of blessings upon Rasulullah Shalallahu ‘alaihi wasallam,

“Send a lot of blessing ( shalawat) for me on every Friday. Because the blessings of my people will be shown to me in every Friday. Whoever shalawat lot to me, he’s the closest to me on the Day of Judgement”

(Verily, Allah and His angels blessing (sholawat ) to the prophet. O ye who believe! Send blessing (shalawat)  to respect the prophet and say hello to him. “( al-Ahzab: 56))

Allahumma Shalli ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala Aalii Muhammad, Kama shalaita ‘ala Aalii Ibrahim innaka hamidunmajiid. Allahumma baarik ‘ala  Muhammad wa ‘ala Aalii Muhammad kama baarakta  ‘ala Ibrahiim innaka hamidunmajiid.
