Lamb Steak : Halal Food Recipe Series

Some of us ladies like to stay away from meats and fat – but wait!

Did you know that fats are needed to keep our skin supple and young?  Did you know that following the USA Food Pyramid although approved is being reconsidered because there is so much hype with low fat and high cholesterol.  In many recent studies, such as from the Harvard School of Public Health, that this food pyramid is “tragically” incorrect and has been replaced by “MyPlate” which is basically the pyramid leaned over.  So, lessen the grains (bread, potato, rice) and increase vegetables and protein.  In some studies such as the Atkin’s diet it stresses the importance of “leaving” out carbohydrates all together.  We, at aMuslima do not condone this.  A balanced diet should really consist of vegetables and proteins, with little carbs.  And ladies, did you know that Lamb is a great source of protein the Prophet Mohammad saw and the Sahaba’s all ate lamb and where very healthy!  Not to mention for those feeling lethargic  (tired and fatigue) Lamb is filled with Iron and Proteins that in turn make us satisfied and filled with real energy that is stable throughout the day.
