Life After Death ~ a note for those left behind

Muslimah making du'a

Oh Muslimah!

As our close Amuslima family has yet again received sad news in the passing of another one of our parents I am overcome by deja vu. It was last October 2011 my own dear father passed away…and in March 2012, the brother who has built this site also lost his father…and today our beloved sister who is the engine of this site has lost her beloved mother.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun.

Deepest condolences for those who have been left behind. May Allah be kind to those taking their first step to the world hereafter and forgive them for every and any wrong doing in this world. Aamiin.

The feeling of loss is immense. However we should now all look very closely at ourselves because our turn to follow their footsteps is so close.

Unlike our beloved parents whose books are closed, our’s isn’t.

What are we doing in this life that is preparing us for the inevitable?

Mourning is allowed. But to excessively mourn is not. We must shake ourselves and wake up to do our best in this world. So that we may reap the rewards later.

…I am sitting here thinking what..what can I do? Ok.. More dua? Steadfast in prayer? Fast, zakat, … Insha Allah these are a given. But what is really important is your Iman and Taqwa to Allah swt.

What does this mean? This is my thinking…I ask Allah to forgive me if I have the wrong interpretation…. Iman is steadfastness which means whatever you are facing you keep true to the principles of Islam. Taqwa is the preserverance in being steadfast.

A good example if Iman and Taqwa is right now we are faced with death in the family, we must pick ourselves up and continue with our normal daily lives without regrets nor looking back, but to look ahead and search hard for opportunities that allow us to compile our good deeds.

As Ramadhan is fast approaching let’s do our best and act as if this could be our last. Insha Allah we will exceed and maybe Allah will allow us another Ramadhan. Aamiin.

Onward.
