May I Call This Globe A HOME? Part 3

As-Salamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh! May peace and blessings of Allah (SWT) be upon you and those dear and near to you, and may Allah (SWT) accept.

A week has passed since the second article and the first one written about calling this world a home. How are you doing since then? Before we continue with our experiential learning discourse, may I bring to our attention to these two things:

(1) A hadith of Rasulullah (SAW) as narrated by Abdullah :

“I visited the Prophet during his illness and touched him while he was having a fever. I said to him, “You have a high fever; is it because you will get a double reward?” He said, “Yes. No Muslim is afflicted with any harm, but that his sins will be annulled as the leaves of a tree fall down.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 7, Book 70, Number 565]

(2) And last but not least, the Divine Speech of Allah (SWT):

And We will surely test you until We make evident those who strive among you [for the cause of Allah ] and the patient, and We will test your affairs.” [Surah Muhammad:31]

Some say, “what angers you conquers you!” It rings true to me, every time. And how am I able to negate what was said by Ali (RA), Rasulullah (SAW) and the Divine Speech that travels to us out of His Love and His Mercy? The same speech that was preserved in lauh al-mahfuz then to bait ul-izzah. From bait ul-izzah then descended to the chest of Muhammad ibn Abdillah, our Rasul (SAW) through Jibreel (AS).

"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding." [Surah Ali Imran 3: 190
“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding.” [Surah Ali Imran 3: 190
Allah (SWT) has referred him (SAW) as Rahmatan lil ‘alamiin, in which we, the humanity received not only one, but two great blessings ~ Al-Qur’an and Rasulullah (SAW). Alhamdulillah.

We have gone through our lives in several phases of cognition towards fulfilling the main two purposes in life. Being the ‘abd, slave of Allah before Him and as khalifah, His vicegerent in every aspects of living.

Islam, being the religion of wisdom and highly intellectual, requires that we must always be willing to gain ‘ilm, knowledge, in order to embody Islam. Wisdom is a gift from Him and He knows the best and perfect timing for bestowing it upon you. We never know when we will receive this gift but we must continue striving in the path of ‘ilm and be prepared to receive His wisdom.

One more thing to be aware of is “our enemy.” How will we be able to protect our fort when we do not know who our enemy is and when the enemy troop would ambush? Always be prepared. Yes, we may start with guarding our heart and at the same time purify it by not only reciting al-Qur’an and pronouncing each letter, word and ayah right, but also through enriching the learning process through tajweed, talaqqi and tadabbur class in your locality.

I trust all of us are engaging in these activities as we appreciate the Love of Allah (SWT) that we breathe and live upon. Let’s increase our dosage of al-Qur’an one step at a time, persistently and consistently, shall we? And increase our remembrance to what is real by doing morning and evening remembrance (hisnul muslim) as taught by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Oh yes! That closest enemy of all time is Iblees, and this creation of Allah (SWT) would ride upon all ways and means to distract us from being foresighted – from looking forward to returning to our real HOME.

May Allah (SWT), The Extremely Loving and Always Loving accept our strife and guide us to His light upon His light. Aameen.

“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as Rahmatan lil’alamin ~ a mercy to the worlds.”
[Surah Anbiya’: 107]

Dear brothers and sisters, thank you and jazakamulullahu khayran kathira for being you and being here. Inshaa-Allah, in the next part, I will share how I have benefited from learning the Worldview of Islam – ru’yat al-Islam li’l-wujud for the past three years and how I am still benefitting.

Your sister in shahadatayn,
Wardah Abdullah
