Moroccan Meatball Tagine

This is a go to recipe for me and my family. My husband can make this too!

Here is what you need:
Tagine pot or a deep pan.

Ingredients for the meatballs:
1.5 lbs ground beef
1 tsp each of: salt, pepper, cumin, turmeric, paprika, ginger
1 handful of minced cilantro
1/4 cup of crushed onions (it should be liquidy
*garlic (I personally don’t cook with garlic)
Olive oil

Mix together!

Ok, now the sauce!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup crushed or puréed onions
1/2 can of crushed tomatoes (fresh is fine too but the tomatoes should be halved and grated without the skin)
1 tspn: salt, pepper, sugar, cumin, paprika, ginger and turmeric
Olive oil to sauté the mixture
Handful of chopped cilantro
Once fragrant
Add around 1-2 cups of water
Turn heat to low
Start rolling the meatballs and place them in the pan / Tagine

For extra flavor – sometimes I add couresly chopped green peppers.

Close and cook till done. Water would have reduced.
