Torikatsu or Chiken katsu, is a popular Japanese dish in Hawaii that consists of a breaded, deep-fried Chicken cutlet one to two centimeters thick and sliced into bite-sized pieces or strips. To make, follow the steps below!

Ingredients:

500 gr chicken breast fillets, cut the chicken breast in halved widened so it becomes thinner

Marinade:

  • 2 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cm ginger, crushed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Lime juice

Dyers:                      

2 eggs, beaten

Flour:

  • 200 gr flour
  • 20 gr rice flour
  • 20 gr corn starch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

And Panko (Japanese bread crumbs)

How to Make:

  1. Soak the chicken breasts that have been cut into the seasoning. Soak it for long hours, if necessary, and keep it overnight in the fridge to infuse the flavors.
  2. Then drain, roll into flour, beaten egg, and finally panko (Japanese bread crumbs).
  3. Let it sit for some time in the refrigerator, then fry.

Complementary: mix together:

  • Carrot, thinly sliced
  • Cabbage, thinly sliced
  • Vinegar
  • Sugar salt

Serve Torikatsu that has been fried with the vegetable mix and mayonnaise sauce.
