Torikatsu or Chiken katsu, is a popular Japanese dish in Hawaii that consists of a breaded, deep-fried Chicken cutlet one to two centimeters thick and sliced into bite-sized pieces or strips. To make, follow the steps below!
Ingredients:
500 gr chicken breast fillets, cut the chicken breast in halved widened so it becomes thinner
Marinade:
- 2 tsp garlic, crushed
- 1/2 cm ginger, crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- Lime juice
Dyers:
2 eggs, beaten
Flour:
- 200 gr flour
- 20 gr rice flour
- 20 gr corn starch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
And Panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
How to Make:
- Soak the chicken breasts that have been cut into the seasoning. Soak it for long hours, if necessary, and keep it overnight in the fridge to infuse the flavors.
- Then drain, roll into flour, beaten egg, and finally panko (Japanese bread crumbs).
- Let it sit for some time in the refrigerator, then fry.
Complementary: mix together:
- Carrot, thinly sliced
- Cabbage, thinly sliced
- Vinegar
- Sugar salt
Serve Torikatsu that has been fried with the vegetable mix and mayonnaise sauce.
