The Art of Wearing Hijab Part 4: Evening Wear. An Hourglass Shaped Body

To what’s left of the article, I will be presenting few of basic tips to the main body types so that the general vision is clarified and finalizing by evening/wedding dresses. And from there, each and every one of you ladies ought to take the initiative to figure out her body type and dig further tips to intensify her understanding and appreciation to her curves and measurements.

Mainly, an Hourglass shaped body should proportionally balance both the upper and lower body at the same time.

Here are some main tips on how to do so,

An Hourglass shaped body should wear:

1- Light weighted and thin fabrics
2- Silhouette dresses (mermaid, trumpet, sheath, A-Line and ball gowns)
3- Slimming necklines (V-neck, scoop neck…)
4- Wrap and bodycon dresses and tops
5- Belts or waistband on tops and dresses, both thin and wide work (keep in mind to keep not too tight      when in Hijab attire)
6- Peplum tops, dress and skirts (best friends)
7- Coats with fitted waist or belted
8- Straight, bootleg or wide legs pants

An Hourglass shaped body should avoid:

1- Baggy and boxy clothing
2- Wide necklines (bateau, off-the-shoulders and square neck lines)
3- Detailing and embellishment over the tops, jackets and dresses (big ruffles, draping fabric, bow on…)
4- Detailing or embellishment of hips
5- Low-waisted pants or skirts
6- Cutting the body in half…thirds are more visually appealing

As for evening dresses, an hourglass shaped body is pretty lucky as silhouette dresses (mermaid, trumpet, sheath, A-Line and ball gowns) all marvelously flatter and fit the shape.
