Time to reflect. The Muslim New Year: Muharram 1, 1436H

amuslima muharram 1 Time to reflect. The Muslim New Year: Muharram 1, 1436H muharram2014 greeting

This is the time when our prophets showed and exemplified the power a mere mortal can have when they embody in spirit and actions the power of Allah Swt.

In a world where celebration is the pinnacle of success let’s take this time to take a moment and really think about all of our own actions and decisions and how it will result the true victory.

Our victory is one that embodies what Allah has commanded human kind to do which is simply to abide by the 5 pillars of Islam.

Our creed although short and simple it is FAR from easy to execute.  Did you give a small charity today? Did you smile? Did you not backbite? Did you speak kind words? Did you feed a homeless?

But Allah is forever forgiving and merciful.  Allhamdullilah!

Let’s put the past behind us.  Not worry about the future. And truly live in the present as it is a gift to you by Allah Swt.

Happy Muharram 1.

Wassallam.

Ummzaytun

Ummzaytun represents versatility as it is the Mother of Olives. The Olive fruit is an extremely durable, versatile and delectable fruit. It is the base of many foods yet it can also be the centerpiece. I love this name because in many ways it represents me. With the graciousness of Allah SWT I am blessed to be a wife, a mother of two wonderful boys (Masha Allah!), a family Chef, completed my MBA, got a great career and now have AMuslima.com The opportunities that have been presented to me up till this point have all been self indulgent however this time around the opportunity is to serve and give back to my sisters in Islam and empower them with stories, life experiences and a warm community experience. I welcome all sisters from all nations to join and be a part of this exciting community.Bismillah~Ummzaytun
