Welcome the New Year of Hijri 1 Muharram 1435 H (4th November 2013)
We come to the end of 1434 Hijri and we welcome the new year of Hijri 1435.
The end of the Hijri year gives us a golden opportunity to look at the year in retrospect, to examine ourselves.
As Muslims we should constantly be assessing our lives, setting goals and making resolutions, about our relationship with our Creator (Allah Subhanahu waTa’ala) and how we strengthen that relationship by living life in accordance to His guidance.
The Second Caliph, `Umar ibn Al-Khattab said,
حاسبوا أنفسكم قبل أن تحاسبوا
“Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account”
“Criticize and appraise yourselves before you are criticized and appraised ….”. Therefore, setting goals and making resolutions is all about self improvement and to instill that attitude within ourselves.
So, it’s time to improve our ibadah and muamalah in this new year.
إن الله لا يغير ما بقوم حتى يغيروا ما بأنفسهم
‘’Verily Allah will not change the condition of a people unless they change it themselves”
So if we want to genuinely become better Muslims for the sake of Allah, then Allah will make it easy for us InshaAllah.
Happy new Hijriah year 1 Muharram 1435 H (4th November 2013)
كل عام وأنتم بخير
May ALLAH bless us all and fulfill our wishes of peace , development and bring us all His gifts and blesses.. Allahumma Aamiin
